Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:
- DGRI is looking for volunteers for Return to the River, a free music & art festival! Return to the River takes place August 24th and 25th. Volunteer sign-up is open till June 14th.
- ArtPrize is looking for volunteers to help out during September 13 – 28. Volunteers will support the arts and gain valuable experience.
- DGRI is seeking volunteers for our annual Streetscape Assessments. Volunteers will aid DGRI in gathering feedback on the cleanliness of our downtown. As a reward to anyone who signs up, we are offering a $20 gift card valid at any downtown business of your choosing!
- Roosevelt Park Neighborhood Association is seeking volunteers for Dumpster Day, which is where anyone can bring their trash to free dumpsters provided by the city.
Standing Volunteer Opportunities:
Many of the organizations downtown are looking for volunteers. If you are passionate about one of these issues or institutions, I encourage you to explore their website and consider lending a helping hand.
- The museums and libraries of Grand Rapids are always welcoming volunteers! Here are the links to a few: GRPL, GRPM, GRCM, & GR Symphony.
- Volunteering at human rights services organizations: The Red Project, Legal Assistance Center, GR Pride Center, Affinity Mentoring, and many more!
- Volunteering with a sustainable outdoor organization: Friends of GR Parks, Blandford Nature Center, WEMAC, Kent County Parks are all looking for volunteers.
- Volunteering with organizations that focus on human needs: Community Food Club, Fulton Street Market, Access of West Michigan, United Way, Kent County Community Action, and MomsBloom.
