The neighborhood is growing! The number of retail and restaurant businesses are heatin’ up as the weather cools down.

Downtown Grand Rapids is continuing the speedy pace of businesses opening in our neighborhood. Support them by getting to know what they’re all about. Here’s a highlights tour for you to explore and share with your friends and neighbors.

Now Open!

🍣 Nagoya Sushi

• Features: The second location for a popular Japanese steak house and sushi restaurant. This restaurant aims to bring fresh cuisine to the center of the city.
• Location: 16 Monroe Center St. NE (The Kendall Building, in front of Monument Park).

  • 11 AM – 1o PM, Monday – Thursday.
  • 11 AM – 11 PM, Friday.

🖤Pearl & Jade Tattoo Studio

• Features: custom tattoos and permanent cosmetic art
• Location: 1180 Monroe NW.
• Hours: by appointment.

 

🍔 Nonla Burger

• Features: Quirky takes on a burger with flavor influence from Vietnamese cuisine. This will be the third location for the Nonla team. Folks who have relocated from KZoo love the burgers, fries and shakes!

👾Cocoon Art Space

• Features: Meet your newest neighbors! Josie and Tedd opened the new gallery on the corner of Wealthy and Division to showcase local art, create space for artists to work, and are planning to offer kids’ art camps and adult classes this summer.

🍃 Broad Leaf Brewery + Spirits

• Features: Taking over the beer garden space at the old Sovengard location, Broad Leaf looks to bring a “blend of southern cooking and an Asian influence food” to their experimental beer and spirits offerings.

🍸 Drip Drop Cocktail Room

• Features: Hand-crafted cocktails with a noir vibe. This is the place to go for an upscale, mid-century modern date night on Bridge St.

🍜 Noodle Pig Ramen

• Features: Homemade noodles with unique flavor combinations! Have you ever had a boozy boba tea? Each bowl of ramen purchased buys a meal for a child internationally, nationally, and locally. That’s 4 bowls of ramen for the price of one!

🎁 The Arts Marketplace

• Features: handmade gifts from a diverse array of local artists and entrepreneurs. A perfect spot to buy a local gift for someone!

🙂Second Vibess

• Features: Up-cycled and re-worked clothing that reimages garments into one-of a kind statement pieces. This duo team focuses on sustainability and is part of the emerging trend of slow fashion.

🍻 Küsterer Brauhaus

• Features: Cedar Springs Brewing Company’s newest addition to the Downtown beer scene, bringing a Bavarian twist to the West Side. The name honors Christoph Küsterer, the original German brewer in Grand Rapids, from 1844.
• Location: 642 Bridge St. NW.

🌏 Zabhaz

• Features: Size-inclusive vintage clothing and home goods with a focus on welcoming everyone.

👜 OTONO

• Features: Vintage and second-hand clothing, accessories, home goods, custom spoon rings and shoes can all be found in this cozy community-centered space. Run by neighbors!

🌆 The B.O.B.

• Features: The Big Old Building is back in action! 5 spaces exist in this building for multiple dining and entertainment experiences including a brewery, stand-up comedy club and pizza restaurant.

🤘 Decaydence

• Features: Nostalgic items from years gone by that people love to remember — or wish they had back in the day! Stop in to take a walk down memory lane.
• Location: 71 Division Ave. S.

🏈Big E’s Sports Grill

• Features: A large venue for watching allllll the games at once in the neighborhood!
